For more than 10 years, Paul Jackson has been a frequent contributor to The Artist’s Magazine and to Watercolor Artist. Jackson’s rise as a watercolorist was meteoric; he was only 30 when the American Watercolor Society awarded him signature status. His Enchanted Forest (watercolor, 20x30) appeared on the cover of the March 1998 issue; in the article by Greg Schaber, “Choreographing the Light,” Jackson described his use of multiple sketches by saying that his “skewed perspective” was “an effort to add motion to the work.” In January 2004, The Artist’s Magazine’s 20th anniversary issue, Jackson was among the artists profiled in “Paths to Success.” The author of Painting Spectacular Effects in Watercolor (North Light Books, 2000), Jackson conducts workshops around the world.
