Course Overview
Learn the fundamentals of color theory to become more confident in your color mixing! Designed as a companion with “Color Mixing: Master Your Palette,” this course contains a series of lectures, followed by specific exercises you’ll be encouraged to complete to gain a deeper understanding of color theory and set you up for more confidence in color mixing. Incorporate these exercises into your studio practice for long-term growth as an artist. If you’re new to painting or have struggled with color theory in the past, this course is designed to help you succeed. Color theory is a vast topic, but his course pulls together the information and exercises that are most valuable to improve your painting and color mixing skills.

Students of all levels are encouraged to participate in this course.
Format
This course runs Jan 11-Jan 24, 2020. During that time, Scott will provide assignments and send video-recorded feedback to each student. After the course dates, you will continue to have access to the recorded videos, discussion boards, and gallery, where you can share work and ideas with other students in the community. - Store-bought color wheel with value scale
- Palette knife
- 2-3 Flat or Filbert brushes
- 1" Mop Brush
- Primed paper, cardboard, or panel, cut into 1"-2" squares
- Palette for mixing
- Rags
- Solvent (if necessary)
