American Artist Magazine Wants to Know What You Think!
Dear American Artist Reader,
American Artist will celebrate its 75th anniversary in 2012!
In celebration of that important milestone, we are rolling out a new design for the magazine. We pored over past issues, and the various incarnations of our logo, and struck upon the logo first introduced in 1977. The logo was drawn by the calligrapher Irving Bogen, who described it as "American as apple pie"; we especially like his calligraphic and artistic touch—the swash of the "S".
We took this logo and updated it for 2012. It is both a nod to our history and our readers who have stuck with this through the ages, and a look to the future. We'd loved to get your feedback on this new logo, as we are planning on using it for the next few years.
See the logo and take the survey!
Thanks,
Michael Gormley, Editorial Director
